Construction

  1. Jake Tolbert

    Project Manager

Jake is one of our Project Managers at Sterling Ranch. He is responsible for managing all matters related to Sterling Ranches’ infrastructure including construction and repair projects, Douglas County’s warranty process, assisting with infrastructure inspections and addressing resident concerns. Jake brings over 10 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a dedicated worker who enjoys the satisfaction of seeing projects completed and the positive impact it has on the Sterling Ranch community. After earning a Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in civil engineering, he discovered that he doesn’t enjoy being behind a desk full-time. Working in construction management allows him to still be involved in civil infrastructure work and use his engineering skills while also being able to work outside in the field. Jake lived in Argentina for two years after high school while serving as a volunteer for his church. When Jake isn’t working at Sterling Ranch, you can find him youth sports coaching, volunteering at his church and spending time with his family.

Les is our Construction Manager at Sterling Ranch. As Construction Manager, he oversees a professional staff who perform all water, sewer, landscape, and water meter installation inspections, as well as all construction projects. Les has over 50 years of construction experience and enjoys seeing projects develop and built to a successful completion. He is dedicated to ensuring all team members and site workers use safety practices so that they can go home at the end of each day without any injuries. Fun fact about Les is he used to play in a softball league three times a week, and was a competitive bowler, achieving a 300 and 299 game. When Les isn’t in the office, you can find him working on his own home improvement projects and appreciating family time.

    Lane Requist

    Residential Development Inspector

Lane is our Residential Development Inspector. He also oversees residential and CAB landscaping and works with Siemens on streetlight installation and repair. Lane enjoys working at Sterling Ranch with his supportive colleagues and contractors who help him provide quality inspection work to our residents. Lane began inspecting homes in 2017 and has done over 5,000 inspections. Lane graduated from the University of Colorado where he earned a degree in Chemistry. After college, he worked for a number of different contractors in many phases of construction and building. Lane had a wonderful childhood growing up in Cody, WY near the rodeo grounds whereas kids, he and his friends would collect horseshoes and play in the calf-chutes. When not inspecting homes, you can find him volunteering at his church and spending time with his family. He is also a sponsor to three young boys in Kenya. As children living in extreme hardship conditions, this sponsorship provides them with the food, clothing, medical care, education, and Biblical teaching to help them break the cycle of poverty. When they send Lane pictures, he is proud to see they are growing up happy and healthy.
